What you can do here
The QR code tools turn a web address, a text, the login of a Wi-Fi network, a contact or the review link of a business into a code that you can download as an SVG or a PNG file or print as a sign, and they read the content of a code from a photo or a screenshot. The random tools draw numbers, names and raffle winners, split a list into teams with optional rules, make round robin schedules, run a Secret Santa draw, spin a wheel, roll dice, flip coins and create passwords and passphrases.
Every tool is followed by a plain explanation of how the result is made, a worked example and a list of common mistakes.
How the tools treat your data
- The work is done by your browser. Texts, passwords, contact details and lists of names are not sent to us or to anyone else.
- A list of names is saved on your device only if you tick the box for it. The box is off at the start, and one button deletes the saved copy.
- The QR codes are static: the content is in the pattern itself. They do not pass through this site when somebody scans them, so they keep working for as long as the content is valid.
- Random results come from the cryptographic random number generator of your browser, not from a simple formula.
Frequently asked questions
- Are the tools really free?
- Yes. There is no paid plan, no account and no limit on the number of codes or draws. The site may show advertisements to cover its costs.
- Do the QR codes stop working after some time?
- No. A code from this site contains its content directly. There is no redirect through our servers that could be switched off, and nobody counts or limits the scans. A code that holds a web address works for as long as that address exists.
- Can I change a QR code after I printed it?
- No. Because the content is stored in the pattern, different content means a different pattern. If the destination may change, let the code point to an address on your own website and change what that address shows.
- How do I know that a draw is fair?
- Every page explains the method: the numbers come from the cryptographic generator of your browser, and values that would favour some results are discarded and drawn again. The program code is tested for even distribution before each release. The site keeps no record of a draw, so for a draw that others must trust, do it in front of them.
- Do the tools work without JavaScript?
- The explanations can be read without JavaScript. The tools themselves need it, because your browser does the work that a server would do elsewhere.
